It is a chance to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of conservation efforts and the need to protect these remarkable creatures and their habitats. Embark on an unforgettable adventure with the 5 Days Best of Uganda Chimpanzee and Gorilla safari from Rwanda.

Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by our safari guide at Kigali international airport who will be holding a sign post with your name on it. Your safari guide will give you an overview of your safari before departing for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Uganda Rwanda Cyanika border in Kisoro. The journey takes 3 to 4 hours with wonderful views of Rwanda's undulating hills, terrain, gorgeous scenery, and homesteads, among other interesting sightings. You will have lunch en route and then check into the lodge, have dinner, and sleep overnight.
Today get up early have an early breakfast and also carry packed lunch. Meet up with your safari guide and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations about gorilla trekking safari. Following the briefing, you will be divided into a group of 8 individuals and allocated a gorilla family to trek depending on age, physical fitness health among other factors. You will also be allocated an experience park ranger guides who are well acquainted with the forest trails. Gorilla trekking safaris in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park begin around 8:00 a.m. and last between 2 and 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family allocated to you. Once gorillas are allocated you have an hour to spend with them as you observe them doing their dairy activities such as feeding, playing, and breastfeeding among other activities. Following your hour-long interaction with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters, where you will receive a certificate proving that you have engaged in gorilla trekking. After your safari guide will drive you back to the lodge for relaxation dinner and night stay.
On this day after a hearty breakfast this morning, you will check out of the lodge and meet your safari guide to embark on your transfer to Kibale National Park. On your way to Kibale you will pass through Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha sector where you will have an opportunity to encounter with the tree climbing lions on the fig acacia trees, you will also witness other wildlife species like bushbucks, zebra, leopards among others. After the wildlife drive in Ishasha, you will have lunch on the way and then proceed to Kibale National Park. When you arrive, you will check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.
Following a leisurely breakfast you will meet your safari guide and make your way to the Kanyachu Visitors Center, where you will receive an orientation regarding the guidelines for chimpanzee tracking. Following the briefing, you will be allocated a chimpanzee group and a park ranger guide who is well conversant with the location. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park takes between 1 and 4 hours depending on the location of the chimps because they typically move from one location to another in quest of food and if found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat. You will have an opportunity to observe their behaviors, take photos, record videos for the moment. Following your hour-long experience with the chimpanzees, you will hike back to the park headquarters where you will meet your safari guide to make your way to the lodge in time for lunch. Following lunch, you'll take a nature walk through Bigodi Swamp, where you can see a variety of wildlife species, such as baboons, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black-and white colobus monkeys, bush pigs, otters, Sitatunga, bushbucks, and bird species like the great blue turaco, papyrus Gonolek, white-winged warbler, among others. You will breathe in fresh air, enjoy the cool breeze, and take in the lovely sounds of birds chirping in the woods while on the nature walk. You will drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay following the nature walk.
On the final day of your safari, you will have a leisure breakfast, check out of the lodge, and then make your transfer to Kampala. You will stop at the Equator for a photo opportunity and to purchase souvenirs, including purses, sandals, and art pieces, in addition to lunch. From the equator, you will continue your journey to Kampala, where you will arrive in the early evening. You will be dropped off at either Entebbe airport or any location of your wish.
