The 10-day Uganda safari adventure includes visits to four of the country's most well-liked game parks and the stunning Lake Bunyonyi for an incredible opportunity to see some of Africa's most renowned wildlife animals. The safari begins with a trip to the national park of Murchison Falls, where guests can go on wildlife drives, boat tours, and view the impressive falls.
Upon arrival at the Entebbe international Airport you will be picked up by your safari guide and head to Murchison Falls national park. He will give you a tour overview and explain to you what to expect on this Uganda safari. You will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary and go for Rhino tracking activity before continuing on to the Murchison Falls. Murchison falls are the source of the name for the Murchison Falls National Park. The falls are created when the Nile River flows through a small gorge and then burst into a massive fall. After that, it becomes calmer and keeps flowing toward South Sudan. Incredible biodiversity can be seen in the region immediately behind the falls. Around this section of the river, hundreds of birds, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, antelopes, and elephants can be observed. Savanna plains, grasslands, forests, and riverine forest make up the larger Murchison Falls Conservation region. Furthermore, lions, chimpanzees, and the well-known Uganda Kob live in the park. In the past, several rhinos could be found grazing freely in some of Uganda's national parks. They were unfortunately killed by poachers who wanted their priceless horns. The Ziwa Rhino sanctuary received the few survivors.
You will continue your journey after touring the sanctuary to Masindi town for lunch and then the National Park. Once you get there, the driver will take you to the top of the Murchison Falls. This will be a fantastic chance to see the Nile River squeeze through a little valley before plummeting 40 meters in a loud explosion. After the fall, the river resumes its tranquil course. This serene area is teeming with life, from enormous terrestrial beasts to aquatic birds and reptiles.
Get up really early, take a shower, and have breakfast. At around six in the morning, your driver guide will pick you up and take you for a morning game drive through the savanna plains. You will have a game drive in Nyamsika plateau where you will be able to spot number of wildlife species like giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, hartebeest, and the Uganda Kob. Keep an eye out to witness endangered sitatunga, oribi, bush duikers, warthogs, Bohor reedbuck, bush pigs, hyenas, lions, and leopards are more creatures. In Uganda and the Murchison Falls National Park, baboons are fairly common. You will return to your lodge for lunch and refreshments following your morning game drive as you wait to board your afternoon Nile cruise. Hippos and crocodiles can be seen in great numbers in the Nile River. It is also among the top locations in Uganda for spotting birds. Get up early for an early breakfast, have your packed lunch and then get ready to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. The park rangers will impart knowledge on how to interact with the chimpanzees and behave around them. The most chimpanzees in Africa that have been trained live in Kibale. In the forest there are about 13 different primate species. Because of this, you should prepare to see other birds, butterflies, primates, and other forest animals. It takes two to three hours to trek chimpanzees in Kibale National Park. After spending time with the primates, you will be driven back to your hotel for lunch and refreshments. The driver will then set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Queen Elizabeth national park is the most frequented park in Uganda. Very diverse wildlife may be seen in the park, its scenery, physical features, and landscape are what really set it apart from other parks. Earth movements throughout millions of years have produced crater lakes, incredible gorges like Kyambura, savanna plains, escarpments, valleys, and lush forests like Maramagambo, marshes, and much more. As you travel, you'll pass through the Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you can observe many other park creatures as well as the renowned tree-climbing lions of Uganda. Tourists can participate in lion tracking in the Kasenyi area of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Park is relatively unexplored however offers a unique environment and vegetation. You will continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after seeing the lions and other park creatures. The world's largest mountain gorilla population is found in Bwindi. Get up early and have breakfast before travelling to the park headquarters for a briefing. Around 7:30 in the morning, a briefing is held at the briefing center that includes information on park history, gorilla trekking regulations, facts on mountain gorillas, and more. The Rangers will present you with hiking sticks following the briefing. Following the briefing, Gorilla groups are assigned based on hikers' general fitness. After everything is ready, you will be taken to the forest to look for primates. Depending on whatever gorilla group you are given, gorilla tracking can take anywhere from one to six hours. Before you locate the primates, you must travel through dense vegetation, valleys, hills, and a number of forest pathways. The journey provides chances to see birds, butterflies, and other forest species. You are only permitted to spend an hour with the primates after you find them. At the completion of the walk, each participant is given a certificate of participation. After spending time with the gorillas, you will return to the beginning location where your guide driver will be waiting for you. After that, you'll return to the hotel for lunch and refueling. During that evening, the driver will take you to see the Batwa pygmies.
Following breakfast you safari guide will start your transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. One of the most romantic spots to visit in Uganda is the Lake Bunyonyi and its surrounding islands. The lake is, one of the deepest in all of Africa, is located not far from the Rwandan border. Many national parks in Uganda and Rwanda are nearby Lake Bunyonyi. It is a great place to unwind after or during a protracted safari in Uganda, Rwanda, or the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Relaxation, birding, island hopping, swimming, canoeing, and nature walks are the major pursuits at Lake Bunyonyi.
Today you will get up whenever you want to and talk with your safari guide about your plans for the day. You can take a stroll around the lake's surrounding hills. The Lake is surrounded by lush, year-round foliage, making it ideal for nature hikes, primate gazing, and bird watching. Following your strolls, you can go canoeing and explore the various islands in the lake. Most are inhabited by humans and some even have schools. This is a great opportunity to talk to the locals and learn how they survive on the island.
Once you've had your fill of Lake Bunyonyi and the breathtaking surroundings, then now head to Lake Mburo National Park; you will have lunch in Mbarara. The smallest savanna national park in Uganda is Lake Mburo, which has a total area of 371 sq. km. The park is renowned for having a big antelope population because there aren't as many predators to keep their numbers in control. The only park where one can embark on a walking, quad bike, or horseback safari is Lake Mburo. The park contains the highest density of zebras in Uganda and the best possibilities to see leopards. After you get to the park, check into your hotel and get ready to board the 2-hour Lake Mburo boat ride in the afternoon. You will have the chance to see waterfowl, crocodiles, and hippos while on the boat excursion, all from the protection of the vessel.
Get up, have breakfast and get ready for the final significant activity of your journey.
