This carefully crafted itinerary will take you on an incredible journey to some of the most iconic and breathtaking destinations in the country.
Upon your arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be welcomed by African Safari Tour Holidays safari guide, who will brief you about the safari before departing for Kibale National Park. You will have a stopover at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe along the route to take some pictures, shop for mementos; you will have lunch at the Igongo Cultural Center. Continue on to your journey to the park following lunch break, as you travel you will be greeted with breathtaking views of tea plantations, crater lakes, the Rwenzori mountain ranges, and other picturesque scenery. Upon arrival you will check in to your lodge and refresh yourself, later you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Today, following an early breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from the lodge and transfer to Kanyachu visitor’s center for a briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee tracking experience. Following the briefing, you will be allocated a chimpanzee group to track and an armed ranger guides and trackers to accompany you in the jungle. Chimpanzee tracking experience usually takes about 1 to 4 hours depending on where they are allocated at time of tracking, because chimpanzees like to move from one location to another in quest of food. During tracking you will have an opportunity to witness other primate species such as vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys to mention but a few, you will as view several bird species. Once you allocate these amazing primates you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat as you observe them while feeding, breastfeeding, playing, resting. You are free to take pictures and record videos for great memories of your Uganda safari experience. Following one hour with these amazing species, you will depart back at the lodge for lunch.
Following lunch, you will embark on an exhilarating nature walk in Bigodi Swamp accompanied by a local guide with great knowledge of the area who will assist you in spotting various primates such as the grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed monkeys, and vervet monkeys, bird species such as the great blue turaco, wildlife animals such as bushbucks, and otters, as well as various tree and plant species. Following the swamp walk you will depart back for dinner and overnight stay.
Following an early morning breakfast, you will depart your lodge and meet your safari guide and transfer to Uganda south western Bwindi impenetrable national park. You will stop for lunch along the way and enjoy amazing views of the landscape, rolling hills, local people, homesteads, and terraced farmlands, among other things. Upon arrival at the park you will check into your lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.
On this day wake up, have an early breakfast and carry your packed lunch from the lodge. Meet your safari guide and transfer to the park’s headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking experience. Following the briefing, you will be assigned a knowledgeable park ranger guide and a gorilla family to trek depending on age, health and physical fitness because gorilla trekking in Bwindi is exhausting and yet amazing. Mountain gorilla trekking usually begins at 8:00 am and lasts between one to eight hours, depending on the gorillas' location. Once the mountain gorilla family is found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural environments which gives you an opportunity to watch them carry out their daily activities like feed, breastfeed, play, learn about their habits and behaviors, take great pictures and record videos to show people back home.
While hiking, you will have a chance to witness a variety of other wildlife species, birds, mammals, and primates like chimpanzees and hoest monkeys. Following your up-close encounter with the gentle giants, you will hike back to the park headquarters, where you will receive a certificate acknowledging your participation in gorilla trekking. There, you will also meet your safari guide to make the journey to the lodge, where you will spend the evening relaxing, dining, and sleeping.
Following an early breakfast you will depart your lodge and meet your safari guide and transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park. Upon arrival at the park you will move to the briefing center for an orientation about rules and regulations of golden monkey trekking safari. Following the briefing, you will be allocated a park ranger guide and begin your golden monkey trekking adventure in the jungle. Golden monkey trekking varies from 1 to 4 hours depending on the location where they are, as they are nocturnal and like to explore new areas in pursuit of bamboo leaves and food. After the golden monkeys are located, you will be able to spend an hour with them in their habit as you observe playing, feeding, moving from one tree to another, you will also be allowed to take pictures and record videos to take back home. Following your one-hour encounter with the golden monkeys, you will make your way back to the park headquarters, where you will meet your guide and transfer you back to the lodge for lunch.
Following lunch, you'll head out with Batwa guides to experience the Batwa community walk. Along the Batwa Trail, you will see various flora that were used to treat various illnesses, stroll through the forest where the pygmies formerly lived before it was declared a national park, and explore Garama Cave, which served as the king's palace and food store. You will also take in traditional music and drama while on the Batwa walk, and you will end the day with dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
On the last day of your 6 Days Best of Uganda Gorilla, golden monkey and Chimpanzee Safari, you will have a leisure breakfast and then check out of your lodge to depart back for Kampala. Enjoy breathtaking vistas while traveling, and stop for lunch in Mbarara Town before continuing on to Kampala. Upon arrival in Kampala your safari guide will drop you off at Entebbe airport for your departing flight or at any other location of your wish.
