Take a memorable journey across Uganda's stunning landscapes on an 8 Days Uganda Murchison Falls, Kibale forest and Bwindi national park safari that will take you through Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Bwindi National Park, and Lake Bunyonyi. Start your adventure at Murchison Falls, where the powerful Nile River carves a tight gorge and creates a breathtaking spectacle of power and beauty.
Upon your arrival, you will be picked up by an African Safari Tour Holidays representative and our safari guide to give you a briefing about your 8 Days Uganda Adventure safari. Following the briefing you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national park in Uganda. The park is home to the African big four, which include elephants, buffaloes, lions, and leopards. This safari will give you an opportunity to witness all the African big five, because you will have a stopover at the Ziwa rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking. You will have lunch in Nakasongo town and then proceed to the home of the magnificent fall. Upon arrival you will go for the top of the fall experience. After reaching the summit of the falls you will meet your safari guide and then depart to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Following an early breakfast at the lodge, you will embark on an early morning game drive along the park's Northern Bank. The game drive lasts about 3-5 hours and rewards you with breathtaking views of wildlife such as elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Oribis, and waterbucks. You will return to the lodge for lunch after the game drive. Take a thrilling launch trip on the Nile with an exhilarating panoramic view at the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls after lunch. You may see crocodiles, hippos, and riverbank birds like kingfishers, cormorants, and bee-eaters during the voyage. After the boat cruise you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Today is a traveling day, drive to Kibale National Park after breakfast. You will have a stopover for lunch along the way in fort port town. With 13 different species of primates—chimpanzees being the most popular Kibale forest national park is the best primate destination in the world. Along the way you will encounter the amazing views of the rolling landscape, evergreen fauna, and banana plantations among other attractions. You will reach the park in the late evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Today following an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about rules and regulations on chimpanzee tracking. Following the briefing you will be divided into groups each group will be allocated a chimpanzee family to track. You will be accompanied with an experienced park ranger guide with great knowledge about the forest trails. Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forests takes about 2-5 hours depending on the location of the primates because they like roaming in quest for food. Once you've located the primates, you'll spend an hour observing them; take pictures, record videos as they go through their daily activities. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon, head to Bigodi Wetland for a nature walk where you may enjoy the viewing of many bird species as you stroll through a wetland. Return to the lodge later in the evening for some downtime, dinner, and overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will meet your driver and depart for Bwindi. You will pass through Queen Elizabeth national park’s Ishsha sector for a morning game drive where you will witness the tree climbing lions on fig trees. Continue your journey to Bwindi, arriving late afternoon at the lodge where you will check-in, have dinner, and spend the night.
After a leisurely early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters, where you will be briefed by park ranger guides at 7:00 am. Bring your packed lunch and bottled water. Following your briefing, you will set out on your gorilla trekking adventure with ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas. Depending on the gorillas' movements, this could take anywhere from two to eight hours. You will spend an hour with these gentle giants after you locate them. You will be allowed to take photos, record videos, observe them going through their daily activities among others. Following the trekking you will descend back to the park’s headquarter and meet your safari guide to transfer back to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
Get up early, eat breakfast, and travel for 3 hour drive to Kabale District for Lake Bunyonyi. You'll arrive at Bunyonyi in the early morning hours, enjoying beautiful views of the rolling hills covered by majestic evergreen fauna. The lake is located in southwestern Uganda, close to the Rwandan border, between Kisoro and Kabale. With a depth of between 44 and 900 meters and a width of between 7 and 25 kilometers, it is thought to be the second-deepest lake in Africa. Once you arrive at the lake, have lunch and then go on a boat ride to some of the fascinating islands, such as Kyahugye Island, where you will encounter with numerous wildlife species such zebras, waterbucks, impalas, and kobs. Witness the punishment island of Akampeine, where unmarried pregnant girls were abandoned to die, and the islands of Bwama and Njuyeera, where missionary Dr. Leonard Sharp established a colony of lepers. Come back to the lodge in the evening to unwind, have dinner and night stay.
Following an early breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on your 7-8 hour drive to Kampala with en route lunch in Mbarara town. Arrive in Kampala late in the afternoon, and if you have an on-going flight, travel to Entebbe airport.
