Safari highlights Pick up and transfer to Kigali International Airport Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park Dian Fossey hike Depart for Kigali international airport

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up by a representative from African Safari Tour Holidays who will give you a briefing about your 4 Days Rwanda gorilla and Dian Fossey Adventure. After you will embark on your Kigali city tour, during your city tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Kigali genocide memorial site, where you will learn more about the bloodshed of the 1994 Rwanda genocide. You will also visit Kimironko local market, which is filled with locals selling various items such as souvenirs, market vendors selling fruits and vegetables; handmade crafts such as mats and baskets, among other items. Following your city tour you will have lunch at a local restaurant to taste Rwanda local food. Following lunch, you will travel to the Volcanoes National Park, where you will be treated to breathtaking views of Rwanda's hills, villages, and trading hubs, among other attractions. After a two-hour drive, you will arrive at your lodge, check in, have dinner, and spend the night.
After an early breakfast at the lodge, carry your packed lunch and meet your sister guide, to drive you to Kinigi Park Headquarters for a briefing on the guidelines, expectations, and regulations surrounding gorilla trekking. Following the briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8 individuals and each group will be assigned a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with forest trails. Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park starts at 8:00 and lasts for 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of gorillas on the trekking day.  Once the gorilla family has been located, you will spend one hour with them in their natural habitat, learning more about their behaviors and habits, watching them feed and breastfeed, taking photos with a flashless camera, and recording the moments that will provide you with unforgettable safari experiences. Following your gorilla trekking experience, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay. Alternatively, you may choose to go on an evening nature walk to the twin lakes, Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo, where you will enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape, hills, and various bird species.
After an early breakfast you head back to the park’s headquarters for a briefing about the Dian Fossey hike. Following the briefing, you will embark on an exciting hike to the Dian Fossey tombs accompanied by a park guide who will provide you with background on her foundation and her work with the mountain gorillas. You will see her former research center, Karisoke, and the location of her burial, which is near her beloved gorilla Digit. Following the hike, you'll descend back to the starting point to meet your driver guide and make your way back to the lodge in time for lunch. Following lunch, you will embark on a cultural tour that includes a visit to the Ibyi'wacu cultural village. You will experience the local cuisine and beer during the cultural tour, as well as take part in customary activities like singing, storytelling, and Kinyarwanda dance. After the cultural tour you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on your transfer to Kigali international airport to board your flight back to your home country.
