With the 7 Days Best of Uganda Wildlife Encounter and Primates Safari you will have an opportunity to witness the magnificent wildlife and incredible primates that call Uganda home. This safari has been meticulously crafted to present you with an immersive and transformative experience that will leave you in wonder of this East African country.
Upon arrival at Entebbe international airport your safari guide will pick you up and start your journey to Kibale National Park. Although Kibale National Park is far away from Kampala, the journey is worthwhile because of the breathtaking views of the surrounding area, national parks, forests, rivers, lakes, huge plantations, interesting Ankole cattle, trading centers, cities, districts, and perpetually happy peasants. You will have lunch in fort portal town and you will also have an opportunity to explore this amazing city. You will depart fort port and continue on your journey to Kibale Forest National Park reaching in the late Afternoon. Upon arrival you will check in to your lodge and refresh before having dinner and an overnight accommodation.
Following an early morning breakfast, you will be driven to the Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing about dos and don’ts on chimpanzee trekking safari. After the briefing, you will be divided into groups and each group will be allocated a chimpanzee group to track. You will be accompanied by experienced park ranger guides and trackers who are well conversant with the forest trails and rich information about the chimp’s community. Once you locate the chimps you will be allowed to spend an hour in their presence and this is your opportunity to take pictures, record videos and also to learn more about their behaviors in their natural habit as you watch them going through their daily activities.
Following an hour with them you will descend part to the starting point to meet your safari guide to embark on your departure back to the lodge for lunch before going for a nature walk in Bigodi wetlands. The driver guide will take you to the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary later in the afternoon so you may go for a nature walk and go bird watching. One of Uganda's greatest places to go bird watching is the Bigodi Swamp. You may see butterflies, tiny monkeys, and a lot more. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay following the nature walk.
Today you will rise early, have breakfast, and then check out of your lodge to start your drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. During your journey to the park you will pass through Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a chance to witness the famous tree climbing lions. Following your visit to Ishasha, you'll make your way to your lodge, check in, have lunch and relax before the next activity. Your next adventure will be a nature hike through the Kyambura Gorge. The Kyambura Gorge is one of Uganda's most magnificent natural beauties. Kyambura Gorge consist a subterranean forest which is home to a variety of primates, including birds, baboons, monkeys, chimpanzees, and hippos. Rare birds, trees, and plants that have adapted to grow in the gorge also offer a great experience. Following a visit to Kyambura Gorge your safari guide will drive you back to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
After an early breakfast at the lodge, your tour guide will pick you up and take you for a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains. During this game drive, you will observe nocturnal creatures and predators returning to their burrows following a night of hunting. Not to be missed are the early risers, particularly the birds. In addition to numerous birds, other creatures to watch out for include buffaloes, leopards, hippopotamuses, and hartebeests. Following the game drive your tour guide will drive you back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Following some relaxation and lunch, you will be taken to the Kazinga Channel for a boat ride. One of Africa's best places to go bird watching is the Kazinga Channel. There are plenty of migratory and resident birds to be seen here. In addition to seeing most aquatic species, you will also have a chance to witness others wildlife species drinking from the banks of the channel among these includes lions, leopards, antelope, and primates among these includes lions, leopards, antelope, and some primates. Crocodiles, buffaloes, hippos, and elephants are usually visible. Following the excursion you will depart back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Get up early, have breakfast and meet your tour guide for another wonderfully exciting day. You will depart for Maramagambo forest for an amazing adventure. During a nature tour through the Maramagambo jungle, you will see the bat caves and the pythons that lurk above them, feeding from a concealed platform. While on this nature hike there's also a good chance of seeing red-tailed monkeys, various primates, non-habituated chimpanzees, pygmy antelopes, and more. You will also have the opportunity to visit the crater lakes of Nyamasingiri and Kyasanduka. Later that afternoon, you will depart for Bwindi National Park where you will spend the overnight stay.
Today is an exciting day so you should get up early, have breakfast and meet your tour guide to drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking experience. Following the briefing, you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and an experienced park ranger guide to accompany you in the jungle. This is due to the fact that certain gorilla populations are further into the bush, requiring longer trekking sessions. In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, gorilla trekking takes 2 to 8 hours. You will only have an hour with them, so once you find them, snap as many pictures as you can. It's amazing to watch mountain gorillas.
You will return to the starting location, where your guide will be waiting for you, after spending an hour watching the mountain gorillas. Remember to pick up your completion certificate before returning to the lodge for lunch. After some relaxation and lunch your tour guide will take you for a Batwa community tour. The Batwa people lived in the Bwindi forest until the authorities forced them out. You will discover a great deal about their culture and the difficulties they encounter following a prosperous existence in the forest throughout your time with them. Anticipate customary dance and more acts from the indigenous people. Following the batwa community visit you will return back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
On this final day of your safari, you will rise at your leisure, have breakfast and prepare for your departure back to Kampala.
