This 40-kilometer long natural channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward and is a haven for water birds and wildlife. This 5 Days Queen Elizabeth Birding & Wildlife Safari, is a journey designed to immerse you in the rich biodiversity of Uganda's Queen Elizabeth National Park which is a haven for bird enthusiasts and wildlife lovers alike. Whether you're a dedicated birder or a wildlife enthusiast, this 5-day safari promises an unforgettable experience in one of Uganda's most treasured natural wonders.

On the first day of your safari, the African Safari Tour Holidays driver-guide will pick you up from Entebbe Airport according to your arrival time. He will give you a safari orientation, and then begin your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. You will stop for photos and mementos at the Equator along the way, and then you will continue on to Mbarara town for lunch. After lunch, you will continue on your journey to the park while enjoying wonderful views of tea plantations, crater lakes, locals, and stunning scenery. On your first evening in the park, you will go on an evening game drive where you will see a variety of wildlife animals and birds, including martial eagles, sacred ibis, common squaco herons, pygmy kingfishers, and African mourning doves, among others. You will drive to the lodge for dinner and the night after the game drive.
After breakfast, pack your lunch and meet your safari guide and drive to the Ishasha sector in the southern region of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a full day of bird watching. During bird watching, you can see a variety of bird species, including Bateleur, martial eagle, helmeted guinea fowl, double toothed barbet, broad billed roller, black billed bustard, and other animals grazing in the savannah vegetation can all be seen.
On the third day, your driver-guide will pick you up from the lodge following an early breakfast so you can go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. You will see a variety of animals and birds during the game drive, including the brown snake eagle, hooded vulture, palm nut vulture, bateleur, and lappet faced vulture, and long-crested eagle. You'll drive back to the lodge for lunch after the game drive. After lunch, you will travel to the landing area close to the opulent Mweya safari lodge to board the boat for the famous Kazinga channel cruise. You will see a variety of aquatic birds during the boat ride, including the swamp nightjar, African mourning dove, black-headed gonolek, yellow-backed weaver, swamp flycatcher, Nubian woodpecker, grey-headed kingfisher, and pygmy kingfisher. You will also witness hippos and Nile crocodiles in large groups, as well as elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes along the water's edge. You will return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and overnight after the boat tour.
Following a leisurely breakfast, you will pack your lunchbox and meet your driver guide to transfer to Maramagambo Forest. Upon arrival at Maramagambo Forest, you will be divided into groups and assigned to a knowledgeable bird guide who will take you into the forest to observe birds. You will witness a variety of bird species like the dark-capped yellow warbler, fawn-breasted waxbill, sulphur-breasted bush shrike, snowy-headed robin chat, Rwenzori turaco, and white-naped pigeon, among others. You will drive back to the lodge for dinner and the night after bird watching in the Maramagambo forest.
After a leisurely breakfast on the final day of your 5-day Queen Elizabeth Birding & Wildlife Safari, you'll check out of the hotel and meet your driver/guide to travel to Kampala. You will stop for lunch en route before continuing on to Kampala. You will be dropped off at any convenient location after arriving or at the Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
