This 5-day safari will take you to some of the best birding spots in the country, allowing you to witness the rich avian diversity that resides within its borders. The trip starts with a visit to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) and Botanical Garden, located in Entebbe. Here, you can marvel at the diverse range of bird species that inhabit the lush surroundings.

Upon your arrival, you will be picked up by an African safari tour holidays safari guide and transferred to the Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC) for your first birding experience. More than 120 different bird species can be found at UWEC, including the African fish eagle, the enormous kingfisher, the big blue turaco, the common bulbul, the small grey greenbul, the grey parrot, the slender billed weaver, the tawny bordered prinia, and the stripped kingfisher. Following your bird encounter at UWEC, you will transfer to the botanical garden on the shores of Lake Victoria for another birding session. Many bird species can be spotted in the gardens, including the spur-winged lapwing, black-headed heron, water thick knee, African grey parrot, African open-billed stork, yellow-billed duck, lesser jacana, Senegal coucal, little stint, white-winged tern, crowned hornbill, and pied kingfisher. Following your botanical garden bird watching excursion, you will have lunch before going for an evening relaxation at the lodge.
o Mabamba swamp, which is home to over 300 bird species. Mabamba swamp is one of Uganda's top places for bird watching. Upon arrival, you will be briefed about birding excursion and then you will board a dugout canoe with an expert guide who will assist you in spotting various birds such as the mysterious shoebill storkblue cheeked bee-eater, common bulbul, hadada ibis, great white pelican, great cormorant, crowned hornbill, yellow billed tinkerbird, purple heron, red headed love bird, shinning blue kingfisher, long toed lapwing among others. Following your birding excursion, you will begin your journey to Kampala. As you drive back you will encounter numerous bird species such as papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler, and weyns weaver to mention but a few. You will reach your Kampala accommodation in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.
Following breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet your safari guide to make the transfer to Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda, home to more than 350 different kinds of birds. You'll make an Equator stopover to take pictures, record videos and also buy some souvenirs before proceeding to the park. Upon arrival at the park you will enter through Nshara gate where you will be welcomed by a variety of bird species such as brown parrot, greater blue eared starling, emerald spotted wood dove among others. You will later continue to your lodge for lunch before embarking on your evening game drive where you will be able to witness a variety of bird species flappet lark, African wattled plover, yellow throated longclaw and also numerous wildlife animals like impala, buffaloes, topi, elands, zebras to mention but a few. Following the game drive you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Following a leisurely breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up from your lodge to embark on your nature walk safari where will encounter up-close with various wildlife and bird species. On this magnificent nature walk you will be able to spot numerous bird species such as bare-faced go-away bird, blue-headed coucal, hairy-breasted barbet, brown-chested lapwing, tabora cisticola, southern ground hornbill, and red-faced barbe among others. You will also be able to witness creatures such as buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, impalas, elands, and waterbucks, as well as other vegetation. You will return back to the lodge for lunch after the nature walk. Following lunch, you'll head out on an incredible boat ride where you'll get to see a variety of aquatic bird species, including the lesser and greater swamp warbler, African fin foot, African water rail, African darter, water thicknee, spur-wing plover, African ground hornbill, white-winged swamp warbler, papyrus yellow warbler, and the prehistoric shoebill stork. You will also have a chance to explore a number of wildlife animals such as Hippos and crocodiles in the lake, buffaloes, antelopes, and warthogs on the banks. After the boat excursion you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
On the final day of your 5 Days Best of Uganda Bird Watching Safari Adventure, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your tour guide for a morning game drive along the Kigambira loop. During the game drive you will have a chance to spot various bird species such as red headed lovebird, red faced barbet and also a number of numerous wildlife animals like Buffaloes, impalas, waterbucks, warthogs, topi. Following the drive you will continue on your journey back to Kampala. You will have a stopover at Equator crossing where you will conduct some experiments, take photos, record videos and you will also have lunch at this point. You will reach Kampala in the late afternoon. Upon arrival in Kampala you will drop you off at either Entebbe airport to catch your flight back home or to any designated location of your wish.
