5-day Chimpanzee & Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari is an extraordinary adventure that promises to leave you mesmerized by the natural wonders of Uganda. This incredible journey takes you deep into the heart of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, a haven for diverse wildlife. The highlight of the safari is undoubtedly the opportunity to encounter chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Trekking through lush forests of Kibale, you'll get the chance to observe these incredible creatures up close as they swing gracefully from tree to tree.
Upon arrival, you will be met by African Safari Tour Holidays guide safari guide, who will give you an overview of your 5 Days Chimpanzee & Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari before embarking on your journey to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. On the route, you'll stop at the Equator to take photos and buy souvenirs before continuing on to the Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch. After lunch, you will travel to Kibale National Park, which offers breathtaking views of the crater lakes, Rwenzori hills, tea plantations, and lovely scenery, among other things. When you arrive, you will check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Following a leisurely breakfast, you will be picked up by your safari guide from the lodge and taken to the Kanyachu Visitors Center where you will receive a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. Following the briefing, you will be allocated a chimp family to trek with and a park guide to accompany you. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park takes between 1 and 4 hours, depending on where the chimps are located because they like to wander from one location to another in quest of food. During trekking in the forest, you will be able to witness other primates such as grey cheeked mangabeys, red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, l'hoest monkeys, as well as several bird species, animals, and flora.
After the chimpanzees are located, you will have the opportunity to spend an hour in their natural setting where you may observe and learn about they go through their daily activities, as well as shooting photos and record videos using a flash-free camera. You will also witness them eat, breastfeed, fight, play, hunt, rest. You will hike back to the starting point following your up-close encounter with the chimpanzees, where you will meet your safari guide and head back to the lodge for lunch. Following lunch, you'll take a nature walk in Bigodi Swamp, where you will encounter with a variety of primate species, including baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, l'hoest monkeys, and grey cheeked mangabeys, as well as bird species, mammals, and plants, including bushbucks and great blue turacos. You can also see a variety of plant and tree species, vibrant butterflies, and a cool breeze. After the swamp walk, you will make your way back to the lodge to spend the night and have dinner.
After breakfast, check out of your lodge and meet your safari guide and transfer Queen Elizabeth National Park. As you travel, you'll be treated with breathtaking views of tea plantations and crater lakes. When you arrive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will check into the lodge and have lunch. Following lunch, you'll take an afternoon game drive in the park, where you have an opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, huge forest hogs, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, and many bird species. Following the game drive, you will make your way to the lodge to have dinner and overnight stay.
Following a leisurely breakfast, your safari guide will pick you from the lodge and embark on a morning game drive which will provide you with the great opportunity to witness wildlife animals at their most vigorous. While on the game drive, you will witness a variety of wildlife species grazing in the open savannah plains, including elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, and warthogs. You will also encounter many bird species, predators like lions and leopards, and others. You'll head back to the lodge for lunch following the game drive.
Following lunch, you will depart for an incredible boat ride across the 40 km-long Kazinga Channel, which links Lake George and Lake Edward. On the boat cruise, you encounter with huge herds of hippos and crocodiles swimming in the water, as well as animals like warthogs, antelopes, buffaloes, and kingfishers drinking water along the shores. You can also see fishermen setting up their gear for night fishing. You will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay following the boat excursion.
Following a leisurely breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and rendezvous with your safari guide for your transfer back to Kampala. You will have a stopover for lunch in Mbarara City, arriving in Kampala during the early evening hours. When you arrive in Kampala, your safari guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your departing flight or at any other location of your choice.
