Upon your arrival at Entebbe international airport you will be welcomed by a representative African Safari Tour Holidays who will give you an overview of this Uganda safari adventure before setting off for the south-western Ugandan’ s Bwindi impenetrable national park. This is a long day journey of about 7 hours, including a lunch break along the way. Despite the long distance, the journey rewards you with a variety of landscapes, including tropical rain forests, savannah grasslands, and the terraced hills of Kigezi, often known as the "Switzerland of East Africa." Upon arrival you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, meet your safari guide and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking safari. You will meet the top-notch local trackers and park ranger guides who will give you an overview on proper gorilla trekking safari. Following the briefing, you will be allocated a gorilla group to trek and an experienced park ranger guides and tracker who are well knowledgeable about the forest trails. Mountain gorilla Trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national forest starts at 8:00 am and lasts between 2 -8 hours in the jungle depending on the location of a gorilla group you are trekking because gorillas like roaming in quest for food.
Mountain trekking offers fantastic views of various wildlife species, including but not limited to black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, l'hoest monkeys, forest elephants, buffalo, various bird species, and plant and tree species. Once the gorillas are located, you will be permitted to spend one hour with them, during which you will be able to learn about their behaviors and habits, observe them as they go about their daily activities such as feeding and breastfeeding, take excellent photographs, and record the moments to show people back home. Following your amazing encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will hike back to the park headquarters, where you will meet your safari guide and proceed back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Following breakfast, you'll check out of the lodge and meet safari driver guide and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda's second-largest national park. The journey takes about 5 hours and includes a halt in the Ishasha section of Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is renowned for harboring the famous tree climbing lions. In addition, you will be able to see various wildlife species, including elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and several bird species. Following your game drive in the Ishasha sector, you will eat lunch on the way and then continue on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival you will check in to your lodge and then depart for an evening game drive for a chance to witness a number of wildlife such as waterbucks, elephants, bushbucks, impalas to mention but a few.
Following an early breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive, which begins at approximately 6:30 am. This is the ideal time to see animals as they are at their most active and birds waking from their nests. Game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park are frequently conducted in the Kasenyi Plains because of the abundance of wildlife there, you will witness number of wildlife species including elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, Uganda kobs, giant forest hogs, topi, and bushbucks. These animals can be seen grazing in the plains of the savannah grassland, and game drives also provide an opportunity to see predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas before retreating to their hiding places. Following the game drive you will head back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will go for a boat cruise at Kazinga channel which joins lake Edward to lake George. While on a boat cruise at the channel you will witness the largest concentration of hippos in the world, crocodiles basking on the water banks, various wildlife animals drinking on the banks and among these include lions, buffalos, and elephants among others. You will descend back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay following the boat cruise.
You'll embark on another game drive in the park after breakfast, where you might be able to see some of the wildlife species you missed on the earlier outings. You will drive back to the resort for lunch after the game drive. Following lunch, you will check out of the lodge and transfer for the four-hour journey to Kibale National Park. You will travel via Fort Portal along the route, where you may enjoy breathtaking views of crater lakes, tea plantations, and several primate species. You will arrive, check into the lodge, enjoy supper, and spend the night there.
Following an early breakfast, your safari guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimp trekking experience. Following the briefing you will be allocated a chimpanzee group to trek and an experienced park ranger guide who is knowledgeable about the forest trails and fauna history. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale starts at 8:00 am and lasts between 2 – 5 hours. Trekking offers breathtaking views of various primates, including vervet, black and white colobus, blue, and red-tailed monkeys.
You will also get to see a variety of plants and bird species. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will get to spend an hour with them in their natural habitat, where you can watch them feed, play, hunt, fight, nurse, and mate. You can also learn more about their habits and behaviors, ask those questions, take pictures, and document the special moments to share with someone back home. Following the trekking you will head back to the park headquarters to meet your safari guide to make a transfer back to the lodge for lunch.
Following lunch, unwind at the lodge and get ready for an afternoon swamp walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Here, you can see a variety of plant species, vibrant butterflies, and, if you're lucky, mammals like bush pigs, bushbucks, and mongoose. You can also see blue monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and weavers, among other species of birds. You will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay following the swamp tour.
Following a leisurely breakfast, you will depart from the lodge and make your way back to Kampala. You will have a picnic lunch along the way, as well as breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, local communities, tea and banana plantations, and farmlands. Upon arrival in Kampala you will drop off at Entebbe international Airport for your onward flight back home.
