The safari journey begins in the Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Impenetrable, and lastly in Lake Mburo.
Embarking on a safari through Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake mburo and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest promises an unforgettable adventure filled with captivating wildlife encounters and breathtaking natural beauty. Murchison Falls National Park, located in northwestern Uganda, is renowned for its majestic waterfall formed by the Nile River, As you navigate the park’s vast savannahs, you’ll have the opportunity to spot an array of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, lions, and hippos.
Moving on to Kibale Forest, you’ll be immersed in a lush green world teeming with primates, especially the cheeky chimpanzees. This 10-day Uganda safari will give you an opportunity to witness the iconic creatures, flora and the incredible wildlife destination sites of the ‘’Pearl of Africa’’. The diverse landscapes and unparalleled wildlife make this East African country a dream destination for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers. As you venture through the vast national parks, you'll have the opportunity to witness captivating scenes that will leave you in awe.
Upon your arrival you will be picked up by our company safari guide and head to Murchison falls national park, the largest national park in Uganda. Before setting off your journey to Murchison falls you will first be briefed by your safari guide about what you should expect on your Uganda safari. Following the briefing you will start your journey to northwestern Uganda where the park is located. Have a stopover at Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an hour rhino tracking activity, and then continue your journey to Masindi district for lunch stop. You will reach the park in the later afternoon. Upon your arrival at the park you will head to the top of the falls for great scenic views of the park’s rolling landscape, abundance wildlife, evergreen savannah grassland and majestic view of the Nile River squeezing into a narrow voyage. After that magnificent experience you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest.
Today you will get up early and get ready for a busy day in the park. After breakfast, your safari guide will arrive at your lodge and take you for an early-morning game drive. Despite the size of Park, it is filled with abundant wildlife species in every sector. Anticipate coming up close with numerous antelope species, various predators such as lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs other wildlife species like giraffes, elephants, and buffalo. For bird lovers Murchison falls a true birders paradise with 350 bird species. Following the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch and some downtime. After some resting and lunch break you will depart for an afternoon boat excursion at the Nile River. You can interact with other travelers here and take in the distinctive biodiversity that surrounds this section of the Nile River. While on this boat cruise expect to see a variety of animal species, including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, water bucks, birds, and more. Since the boat tour terminates at the base of the falls, it gives you a variety of perspectives and sensations. Following the excursion you head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Today is a traveling day; you will wake up at your wish, Have breakfast, and then head to Kibale national park via Fort Portal high way. While on your journey you will take some time to savor the picturesque surroundings and countryside as you go to Fort Portal. You will pass by numerous small towns, rivers, lakes, forests, local farmers and business people doing their work. You will have a lunch stopover in Fort Portal city, while in the city you have an opportunity to witness the magnificent views of the Rwenzori mountain ranges. Following your lunch break you will continue on your journey to the Kibale national park, have short stopover at Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary for nature. Almost ten different primates’ species reside in this sanctuary, along with a fantastic array of bird species such as Papyrus Gonolek, White-winged Warbler, and White-collared Olive back. It's a great chance to meet locals and find out about a project that's being done in the neighborhood to help women. Following you visit to Bigodi wetlands you transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
An obligatory briefing precedes the start of the chimpanzee trip early in the morning. The information is to help you get prepared enough for the activity. Take breakfast and get ready for the amazing chore of the chimpanzees. The closest living relatives to humans, the ‘’chimpanzees’’ trekking into the dense forest of Kibale is once a life time experience. Although gorillas are considered to be much wiser, chimpanzees are cleverer than any primate species. At Kibale, there are 4 habituated groups of chimpanzees. With over 1500 chimpanzee individuals Kibale National Park is the best spot in the world to see chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will also have a chance to witness other 12 different primates’ species including the L'Hoest's monkey, red-tailed monkeys, Uganda Mangabeys, coppery-tailed monkeys, and black and white colobus monkeys among others. Chimpanzees are incredibly mobile and frequently perch in trees, to get the greatest pictures you might need to keep following them. Following that great experience with the chimpanzees you will head back to your lodge and have lunch. Following your lunch you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Get up early, get breakfast, and prepare for another busy day. If you don't have enough time, you can leave the breakfast behind and join the morning game drive via the Kasenyi tract. On this morning game drive you will have an opportunity to witness numerous wildlife species such as buffalo, lions, elephants, birds, antelopes, hyenas, and the occasional leopard to mention but a few. Queen Elizabeth national park is really a unique destination even in the year's driest months; it still has a fair amount of green. As a result of the wide terrain and big animals it attracts, Kasenyi sector is a great place to see wildlife in the park, however, for tree climbing lion’s experience you have to visit the Ishasha sector. Due to volcanic eruption a million years ago, the park is gifted with incredible natural features. Large crater lakes, forests, savannah grasslands, woodlands, and underground gorges were all left behind by the development of the enormous East African Rift Valley and other earth movements. Following your game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will depart for an afternoon Kazinga channel boat excursion. The canal, joins Lake Edward and Lake George, is home to the highest population of hippos in Africa. While on this boat excursion you will have a chance to view some of the park’s majestic wildlife species including crocodiles, hippos, and a variety of birds such as African fish eagles, Great White Pelicans, Great cormorants and African spoonbills. Following a boat cruise you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Get up early, have your hearty breakfast, As you wait for the driver to pick you up and drive to Maramagambo Forest. You will go for a guided nature walk in Maramagambo where you will have an opportunity to view a variety of bird species, primates, butterflies, moths, pythons, and bats. Baboons, wild chimpanzees, Red-tailed Monkeys, L'hoest's Monkeys, Black and White Colobus, and other primate species are among the animals to watch out for. From a secure vantage point, you can watch the pythons and bats. The pythons are frequently seen in the caverns where they eat bats and wait for their next prey. After touring the Maramagambo forest, the driver will drive you back to the lodge where you can eat and rest.
Later in the afternoon, you will explore the famed Kyambura Gorge. It took millions of years for the formation of this underground forest. During the creation of the enormous East African Rift Valley, secondary faulting occurred on its floor culminating into this canyon. There is an astonishing variety of birds and mammals living in the forest inside the Kyambura gorge. The main draw is seeing chimpanzees, although visitors can also witness hippos, elephants, birds, and lesser primates in the canyon.
Today you get up early, have breakfast, and then prepare for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. While heading to Bwindi you will take a game drive to Queen Elizabeth’s Ishasha sector to view the famous tree climbing lions. The primary objective of the wildlife drive is to view the renowned tree climbing lions in Ishasha. In addition to the tree climbing lions, the region is also home to a number of wildlife species like Uganda Kob, elephants, buffaloes, and numerous other antelope species. During the midday is the greatest time to witness the tree climbing lions, this is because in order to avoid the midday heat, they enjoy spending time on top of trees during this period. The journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park continues after viewing the tree climbing lions, with lunch provided en route in Kabale district. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to a diverse ecosystem with 27 kinds of frogs, 400 plant species, 120 mammal species, and more than 350 bird species in Bwindi. If you enjoy the outdoors and stunning surroundings, the gorilla safari to Bwindi impenetrable national park will provide an unforgettable experience. As you continue your journey you will pass by enormous banana and tea farms, as well as unending forests and valleys.
Today is a gorilla trekking day. You need to get up very early and prepare for an unforgettable experience with the gentle giant species. Have breakfast and inquire for your packed lunch at the lodge because the trekking might last for 6 hours. Your safari guide will transport you to the park offices at the briefing center for a briefing which begins at 7:30 am. The briefing goes over all the essential information about gorilla trekking, such as the gorilla groups in the region, the forest's history, and what to anticipate. Once the briefing is through, you and a group of seven other travelers will be allocated to a gorilla family. Your park ranger guide will provide you with a hiking stick, rain jacket and the option to hire porters to assist you with any bulky bags or heavy cameras. Once everyone is gathered, you'll start tracking these gentle species in their natural habitat. Depending on the gorilla family you are tracking and where they are on the day of the trekking, gorilla trekking experience might last anywhere from 1 hour to 6 hours. After spending some time with these endangered species, you will head back to the starting point to pick up your participation certificate. After the trekking experience your safari guide will be waiting for you in order to continue for your Uganda safari. In the late afternoon you will visit the Batwa pygmies for a cultural encounter. The Virunga conservation area which consist Uganda’s Bwindi & Mgahinga, Rwanda's Volcanoes and the Congo's Virunga national park were home to the Batwa pygmies. The majority of people were evicted from the forests but were neither given compensation or helped to adapt to modern life. You will have the chance to learn about their prehistoric lifestyles and the difficulties they faced adjusting to life outside of the forest during the nature walk.
Today, after eating breakfast, you'll depart for Lake Mburo National Park from Bwindi. You will pass through an area referred to as the "Switzerland of Africa" on your way to Lake Mburo National Park. Be prepared to pass by enormous banana farms as well as picturesque terraced hills and valleys. You will have a short lunch break in Mbarara before reaching the park. Lake Mburo National Park has an area of about 371 square kilometers. The park is home to more than 335 different bird species, Zebras, buffaloes, impalas, reedbucks, warthogs, leopards, oribi, topis, elands, and waterbucks to mention but a few. Upon your arrival at the park you will go for a 2 hours boat cruise where you will witness a number of wildlife species such as hippos, zebras, crocodiles, water birds.
Today is the last day of your 10 Uganda safari, and the day’s activity is a typical game drive where you will be able witness the park wildlife animals and take in the distinctive savannah scenery, in contrast to yesterday's boat excursion. Have breakfast before departing for game drive. While on a game drive, get ready to encounter numerous wildlife species like zebras, warthogs, giraffes, impalas, hyenas, buffalo, and, if you're lucky, one or two leopards. One of the few national parks in Uganda that allows for walking, horseback, or quad bike safaris is Lake Mburo. You can let us know if you'd rather use one of the other ways to view the game if you don't want to drive to it.
Following the morning game drive, you will depart back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport. You will make a lunch stopover at the equator, giving you the chance to take pictures of yourself with your legs resting on both hemispheres of the planet. If you don't have a flight in the evening, your safari guide can also make a stop to the Buganda Royal Drum Manufacturers Center to see how drums are crafted. This will mark the end of your safari in Uganda.
