Murchison Falls National Park, located in northwestern Uganda, is a true gem for birdwatching Safari. Spanning over 3,840 square kilometers, this park is Uganda’s largest protected area and offers a diverse range of habitats that support a rich variety of bird species.

Home to over 450 bird species, some exclusive to the Albertine region, others classified as special and endangered, Murchison Falls National Park boasts a remarkable avian spectacle. The boat cruise, in particular, presents opportunities to encounter water birds like the blue-spotted doves, Abdim’s stork, African black crake, white-thighed hornbill, the majestic great blue turaco, and the diminutive dwarf kingfisher.

The experience of observing these magnificent birds in their natural habitat is truly awe-inspiring and offers a deep connection to nature. In addition to the birdwatching opportunities, visitors can also witness the breathtaking Murchison Falls, where the Nile River plunges through a narrow gorge, creating a spectacular display of power and beauty. This 3-Day Murchison Falls Birding Safari promises unforgettable moments and memories that will last a lifetime.

While Murchison Falls National Park welcomes visitors year-round, the dry season offers optimal bird spotting and enhanced photography conditions, thanks to stable weather during birding nature walks.
