This 9 days Uganda primates and wildlife safari is a remarkable journey that takes you to the big five adventure that begins and ends in Kampala. This primates and wildlife safari will take you to the four most fascinating safari locations in Uganda, including Murchison Falls National Park, where you can see all five of the African big in their natural habitats, including rhinos at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes on a game drive and on a boat ride to the base of the falls.

From Murchison Falls National Park, you will travel to Kibale Forest National Park, where you can interact with chimpanzees and other primates like baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys. Then you’ll proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you can see a wide variety of wildlife, including warthogs, hippos, Nile crocodiles, hippos, elephants, waterbucks, lions, leopards, and Uganda kobs. As part of the safari, you will also visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you can get up close and personal with critically endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

This 9 days Uganda primates and wildlife safari is a remarkable journey that takes you to the big five adventure that begins and ends in Kampala. The safari will take you to the four most fascinating safari locations in Uganda, including Murchison Falls National Park, where you can see all five of the African big in their natural habitats, including rhinos at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes on a game drive and on a boat ride to the base of the falls.

Upon your arrival your driver guide will pick you up at Entebbe International Airport, give you a safari briefing. Following the briefing you will begin the drive to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national park in Uganda. The drive takes about 5 to 6 hours, and along the way, you'll stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to go rhino tracking before continuing on with another stop in Masindi Town for lunch. You'll travel to Murchison Falls National Park after lunch reaching in the late evening. Upon arrival at the park your safari guide will transfer you to your lodge for dinner and night stay.
Following an early breakfast, your safari-guide will pick you up from your lodge and embark on an early morning game drive. Here, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of animals like giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, lions, leopards, warthogs, and Jackson's hartebeest, among others. Following the game drive you will head back at the lodge to have your lunch. After lunch, you'll embark on an exhilarating boat ride to the base of the falls where you can see wildlife including elephants, antelopes, and buffalos drinking water from the shores, hippos, and Nile crocodiles swimming in the water, as well as various aquatic bird species like hornbills, cormorants, kingfishers, bee-eaters, and fish eagles, among others. You will return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and overnight after the fascinating boat ride.
After breakfast, you will depart the hotel and meet your driver/guide to begin the trip to western Uganda's Kibale Forest National Park. The trip takes the entire day, during which you will enjoy lunch along the way and breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty, including crater lakes, tea plantations, and the Rwenzori Mountains. You'll check into the lodge once you reach Kibale National Park to spend the night and have dinner.
After an early breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from the resort and transport you to the park headquarters of Kanyachu where you will receive an orientation on chimpanzee trekking. Following the briefing, you will be paired with a knowledgeable park ranger guide who will help to spot the trails while tracking the famous chimpanzee. Because they prefer to move from one area to another in search of food, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours. You will be rewarded for your efforts with views of other primates while tracking the chimps, including l'hoest monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, and various bird species. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will be given an hour to spend with them in their natural habitat.  During this time, you can watch them eat, play, fight, hunt, rest, and observe their behaviors while taking pictures and videos. You will walk back to the park headquarters where you will meet your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch after your hour-long encounter with the chimpanzees. Following lunch you will leave for a wonderful walk in Bigodi sanctuary trails where you will behave a chance to see variety of bird species like the great blue turaco, black crowned waxbill, black bishop, grey winged robin-chat, yellow billed barbet, view mammals like otters, bush pigs, sitatungas, bushbucks, several primates like blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, vervet monkeys, l' hoest monkeys among others. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight after the nature walk.
On this day, you will have a leisurely breakfast before checking out of the lodge. Meet your driver guide and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda's second largest national park after Murchison falls national park. You will enjoy spectacular views of the scenery and landscape along the way, reaching your lodge in the early afternoon hours and have lunch. After lunch, you will unwind at the lodge before embarking on an evening game drive, where you will be rewarded with views of animals such as elephants, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, and warthogs, among others, as they return to their resting areas. You'll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay after the game drive.
Following an early breakfast, safari driver guide will pick you up from the lodge for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. During the game drive, you will be able to witness numerous wildlife species such as elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs and waterbucks grazing in an open savannah plains, and you will also have a chance to view predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas looking for a morning hunt among others. Following the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch. You will take a fascinating boat tour on the Kazinga Channel, a waterway that connects Lake Edward and Lake George, after lunch. You can see large herds of hippos and Nile crocodiles swimming in the water, as well as buffalo, elephants, warthogs, and waterbucks drinking along the shores. You can also see water birds like hornbills, cormorants, fish eagles, and kingfishers during the boat ride, which lasts for about two to three hours. You will return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and overnight after the boat ride.
After a leisurely breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide to transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On the way, you'll stop in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to see the famous tree climbing lions, which will be lying up in acacia/fig tree branches. After the game drive in the Ishasha sector, you will have lunch in Kabale town and then continue your journey to the park, with beautiful views of the landscape, countryside, Kigezi hills, and terraced farmlands, among other things. You will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight after arriving in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Following an early breakfast, you will meet with your driver guide with your packed lunch and then head to the park’s headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing.  This briefing is to set you ready for the trekking safari. Following the briefing, you will be allocated to one gorilla family to trek. You will be accompanied by park ranger guides and trackers who are familiar with the location and the various gorilla trekking routes. Mountain gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can take anywhere from 2 to 7 hours, depending on where the gorillas are allocated. This is because gorillas like moving in search of food. During the trek, you will be able to see other primate species, different bird species, plants, and so on. Once the mountain gorillas are allocated, you will be able to spend an hour with them in their natural habitat, observing their behaviors, watching them carry out their daily activities such as feeding, playing, breastfeeding, and grooming young ones, taking photos and recording videos. Following your one-hour encounter with the gentle giants, you will be driven back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.
On this last day of your safari, you will have a leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge, and then meet your driver guide to begin your journey back to Kampala. On the way, you will stop for lunch at the Equator, where you will also take photos and purchase craft souvenirs. You will travel from the Equator to Kampala, arriving early evening, and your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or any other location advised.
