Upon arrival at Kigali international airport you will be met by an African Safari Tour Holidays driver guide who will give you an overview about the safari and then embark on your journey to Nyungwe national park. You will make a stop at the King's Palace and Museum in Nyanza, which was once King Mutara iii Rudahigwa's residence, en route to the national park. The King's Palace is designed to resemble a beehive and has views of long-horned Inyambo cattle in back. These cattle were descended from the king and were significant in royal ceremonies. During your visit to the Nyanza Museum, you will come across various collections of African antiques. Following the tour at the king’s palace you will have lunch en route and then proceed on your journey to Nyungwe forest national park. Upon arrival at the park you will check in your lodge, have dinner and overnight rest. 
Following an early breakfast, you will rendezvous with your safari guide and head to the park headquarters for an overview about dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking experience. Following the briefing, you will be allocated a chimpanzee group to track and an experienced ranger guide to accompany while in the jungle. Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe National Park takes between 1 - 4 hours, depending on where the chimps are located, because they like moving from one location to another in search of food. Once the chimps are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat, where you will be able to learn more about their habits, and behaviors, as well as observing them feed, play, breastfeed, rest, and hunt, among other activities. You will also have an opportunity to take photos and record videos. Following your one-hour experience with the chimps, you will trek back to the park headquarters, meet your driver guide, and drive back to the lodge for lunch. Following lunch, you will embark on an intriguing canopy walk safari in Nyungwe forest national park. The activity starts with a briefing at Uwinka reception center. Nyungwe National Park is the only destination in East Africa that offers this thrilling activity. The canopy walk activity began in 2010, and the bridge is 60 meters above the forest, passing through massive trees across a steep and deep valley densely forested. The canopy walk lasts approximately 2 hours and provides stunning views of bird species, butterflies, and primates such as blue monkeys, l'hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and tree species such as purple orchids, among others. After the canopy walk, return to the starting point to meet your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Following breakfast, you will depart from your lodge and meet your safari guide to embark on your drive to the Volcanoes National Park. You will make a stopover at Lake Kivu, where you can enjoy the stunning scenery, lake views, sunrises, and a variety of bird species that can be seen along the lake's edge. You will travel to Volcanoes National Park from Lake Kivu, stopping en route for lunch. Once there, you will check into the lodge, have dinner, and spend the night.
Following an early breakfast, you will carry your packed lunch and your safari guide and embark on your journey to Kinigi park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking experience. After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and an experienced park ranger guide who is well conversant with the forest trails to accompany you in the jungle. Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park starts at 8:00 and lasts for 2-8 hours depending on the location of these gentle giant species. Gorilla trekking offers a variety of experiences, including seeing vibrant bird species, animals, and primates such as black and white colobus and hoest monkeys. You will also get to see various plant species. Once gorillas are located you will be allowed to spend an hour in their presence. During your one-hour encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will be able to learn about their lifestyle, behaviors, and watch them go about their daily activities such as feeding and breastfeeding, as well as take photos and record the moments to share with people back home. After spending an hour with the gorillas, you will hike back to the park headquarters, where you will meet your driver guide and make your way to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Today you will have an early morning breakfast and check out of the lodge to embark your journey to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National, a home to the highest concentration of mountain gorillas in the world. It’s a 3-4 hours’ drive from Volcanoes to Bwindi passing via Katuna border in Kabale. You will enjoy a picnic lunch along the way, as well as breathtaking views of Rwanda's undulating hills, terraced farms, and other picturesque scenery. Upon your arrival you'll check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Following an early breakfast, carry your packed lunch and meet your safari guide to embark on your journey to the park’s headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking experience. Following the briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8 individuals and each group will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and an experienced park ranger guide to accompany you while trekking. Because gorilla trekking is an intense activity, people are grouped according to age, health, and physical fitness. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable national park lasts for 2-8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas on the trekking day. Gorilla trekking offers breathtaking views of the forest's fauna and flora, including warthogs, forest elephants, red-tailed monkeys, hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, and black and white colobus monkeys. Among the forest birds are the handsome francolin and Rwenzori batis. Once the gorillas are located, you will have the opportunity to spend an hour in their natural habitat with them. During this time, you will be able to take pictures and videos, learn more about their lifestyle and behaviors, and watch them go about their daily activities. Following your up-close and personal experience with the gentle giants, you will hike back to the park headquarters, where you will receive a certificate acknowledging your participation in gorilla trekking. There, you will meet your safari guide and make your way back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.
Following breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet your safari guide to embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National park. The journey takes about 2 to 3 hours’ drive passing via Ishasha sector for a chance to witness the famous tree climbing lions and other wildlife animals such as impalas, bushbucks, zebra to mention a few. Following the game drive you drive to the lodge for lunch and an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and depart for the morning game drive. During this exciting activity, you should look out for animals such as elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, giant forest hogs, bushbucks, warthogs, and bird species such as martial eagle, African skimmer, grey crowned crane, red throat spur fowl, yellow throated long crow, and others. Following the game drive, you will be driven back to the lodge for lunch. Following lunch, you will embark on an incredible boat ride along Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. On the afternoon scheduled boat cruise, you can snap stunning photos, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding area, watch fishermen setting up their gear, see large groups of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, see aquatic birds like fish eagles, long-tailed cormorants, spur-wing plovers, squacco herons, black crakes, papyrus gonolek, and African jacana, and more along the banks of the water. Following the fascinating boat excursion, you will meet your guide and head to the lodge for dinner, overnight.
Today you will have breakfast before meeting your safari guide for another exciting morning game drive in the park. During the game drive, you will be able to witness some of the wildlife species that you missed during the previous game drive. Following your game drive, you'll take a scenic drive to Katwe Crater Lake, where you can take in the breathtaking scenery, migratory birds, and the locals who make a living by mining rock salt from the lake and selling it to traders. After a visit to Lake Katwe, you will return to the lodge for lunch. Following lunch, you will depart from the lodge and then transfer to Kibale national park. It is a 3 hours’ drive from Queen Elizabeth National park to Kibale forest national park with breathtaking vistas of the Rwenzori Mountains, crater lakes, stunning scenery, tea plantations, and primates watching such as baboons. Upon arrival at the park you will check in to your lodge before dinner and an overnight stay.
Wake up early, have breakfast and then check out of your lodging to transfer to Kanyachu visitors center for a briefing about Chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale forest national park. Following the briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8 individuals and each be allocated a chimpanzee family to trek and an experienced park ranger guide to accompany in the forest. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest can take anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on where the chimps are located on the trekking day because they like roaming from one location to any other. Trekking provides an opportunity to observe various wildlife species, including vervet monkeys, hoest monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black-and white colobus monkeys, elephants, buffaloes, bush pigs, and warthogs. After the chimpanzees are located, you will have the opportunity to spend an hour in their natural environment where you can watch them eating, drinking, playing, sleeping, hunting, and learn about their way of life. You will also be able to take pictures and document the moments. You will hike back to the park headquarters after an hour-long visit with the chimpanzees, where you will meet your safari guide to make your transfer back to the lodge for lunch. Following lunch, you will take a nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland. During the guided swamp walk, you will come across variety of bird species such as the great blue turaco, barbets, hornbills, papyrus gonolek, weavers, plant and tree species, primates such as red tailed monkeys, l'hoest monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, and antelopes, among others. Following the swamp walk, you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Today after enjoying a sumptuous breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet your safari guide to embark on your journey back to Kampala. During your journey you will be rewarded with great views of rolling landscape, dense vegetation among others. You will have a stopover at equator crossing to experience some experiments and also have lunch. Following your visit to the equator you will continue on your driver to Kampala. You will be dropped off at Entebbe airport to catch your flight back to your home country.
