This 7-day family safari in Uganda is an adventure filled with excitement, wonder, and unforgettable memories. From the lush landscapes of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to the captivating wildlife encounters in Murchison Falls National Park, this safari offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and wildlife exploration.
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be picked up by a representative from African safari tour holidays and transferred to Murchison Falls National Park. The park is home to the African big four out of the big five, which include elephants, buffaloes, lions, and leopards. You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking. Have lunch on the way and then proceed on your journey to the park enjoying majestic views on the way. You will reach the park in the late evening; have dinner and an overnight stay.
Following an early breakfast at the lodge, you will embark on an early morning game drive along the park's Northern Bank. A range of animals, including elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, hartebeest, kobs, oribis, and waterbucks, can be seen throughout the three to five hour excursion. You will return to the lodge for lunch after the drive. Take a thrilling launch trip on the Nile with an exhilarating panoramic view at the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls after lunch. You may see crocodiles, hippos, and riverbank birds like kingfishers, cormorants, and bee-eaters during the voyage.
After witnessing the falls from the bottom, you can choose to hike up Bakers Trail to the top of the falls. You can also stand at Bakers Stone, which will bring you even closer to the bottom of the falls. This hike is a little challenging, but it is fascinating because you will enjoy seeing the falls from different angles. When you reach the top of the falls, you will be in awe and eventually forget about the challenging hike. Once you've enjoyed your time at the top of the falls, your driver will pick you up and take you back to your lodge.
After breakfast, depart Murchison and go to Kibale National Park; it's a full day's trip to Fort Portal with an en route lunch. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the top safari locations in Africa, featuring 13 primate species, the most popular of which are chimps. Arrive at the lodge late in the afternoon to relax, have dinner, and sleep.
After having an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing regarding the endangered chimpanzees tracking experience. After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla group to trek and an experienced park ranger guide to accompany you while tracking. Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale lasts between 2 -5 hours depending on the location where they are because they like roaming in quest for food. Once you've found them, you'll spend an hour with them, analyzing their behavior and photographing them, record videos. Proceed back to the lodge for a quick refreshment and lunch after tracking. You will take a nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland later in the day, where you may take in the sight of several bird species as you stroll through a wetland. Later in the evening, return to the lodge to unwind, eat dinner, and spend the night there.
After breakfast, you will drive for Bwindi, passing through Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of tree climbing lions. Proceed to Bwindi, arriving late afternoon at the lodge where you will check-in, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.
After breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters where you will meet an experienced native guide to give you a briefing on mountain gorilla trekking. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi often starts at 8:00am and lasts between 2-8 hours depending on the location of gorillas at that particular time of trekking. Once you find them you will get an opportunity to watch and snap up close-range photos and record videos for your memories. You will see adults feeding and grumbling among themselves. Following an hour with the famous mountain gorillas you will descend back to the park's headquarters where you will meet your safari guide to make your transfer back to the lodge to refresh, have dinner and an overnight stay.
After eating an early breakfast, set out on an eight-hour trip to Kampala, where you will be dropped at Entebbe International Airport to catch your evening flight home.
